You can avoid such activity that has triggered de Quervain’s syndrome. You can avoid such sport, hobby employment, etc that gives inflammation a chance to subside.
Splint/Brace: This is also one of the effective methods to treat de Quervain’s syndrome at home itself. All you need to do is to wear a splint or often called thumb spica splint. This will immobilize the thumb. You can be asked to wear it 24 hours a day for a period of 4-6 weeks.
